Building a custom home is a huge undertaking with many complexities, and having an experienced builder is essential to a timely and cost-effective build. Everyone’s situation is different. You may already have land, have a specific financial situation, or you may already have architectural plans. Whatever your situation may be, we can help guide you through the process. Here are some basic components to the home building process mapped out.
Before pursuing any major financial decision, it is wise to consult your banker to make sure your family is fully prepared.
Choose a Builder
Meet with builders and find one that you are comfortable with, explore their process and view some of their projects. If you choose Toogood Built, we will assist you through the rest of the process step by step.
Find a Location
Explore neighborhoods and lot sizes that fit your lifestyle and needs.
Customize your home by starting from
scratch with an architect or customizing an existing plan.
Once your plans are finalized, we will do a detailed cost estimate and get bids from sub-contractors and suppliers.
Finance & Permits
Once plans, estimates and contracts are in order all will be submitted for financing and permits. This is the final step before the fun begins.
Now it gets fun! Here is where you begin selecting appliances, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.
This is the day you’ve been waiting on! Once your project funds, and permits are awarded, we break ground and your dream home will start taking shape.
Over the course of the project we will be in contact with you advising you of progress and keeping you on top of the finances.
Once your home is complete, we will review every aspect of the project in detail using our exclusive 36 page checklist, yes, you read that right…36 page checklist, to make sure every detail is perfect.
We will walk through your home with you and present you with a notebook giving you all the detailed information you will need about your new home.
Our service does not end with handing you a key. With our 1-2-10 warranty you will have access to us for years to come with any warranty items you may come across.
