Our Story

Keith and Brandi Toogood started their home building company with a heart for well built homes that stand the test of time. High quality, beautiful homes with classic lines and timeless appeal and perhaps more importantly, the people that live in them, is where their passion is. Toogood Built Homes team consist of 9 people, some are office personnel, some on-site personnel and some skilled labor, all with a call to serve their clients and community.

Today the company almost exclusively builds custom homes in the 500K+ market and builds 15-20 homes a year. We are small enough that we build and value close relationships with each and every client but large enough to have the relationships and resources to build some truly amazing homes.

About Us

Keith & Brandi Toogood – Keith is a 2006 graduate of Texas Tech University obtaining degrees in Marketing, Management, and General Business. Keith also played football as a kicker for Tech. After spending time in the restaurant industry, Keith and Brandi decided to pursue their passion for design and home building. Brandi’s design talent is the “secret sauce” that makes a Toogood home an instant classic. Her design talent along with Keith’s love for people, his unique approach to the industry, and strong management skill have made the company a success today.

Brandi and Keith have 3 children: Graham, Harper, and Beckett. They are members of Hillside Christian Church in Lubbock. Their desire through this business is to be the hands and feet of Christ in every interaction with clients, sub-contractors, and vendors.

Keith is also the founder/president of BOOM. BOOM stands for Business Operation on Mission. It is a marketplace ministry that exist to encourage business leaders to live out their Christian faith in real, intentional, and practical ways. If you are interested learn more at www.WeAreTheBoom.com

Scott Montgomery, VP Operations – Scott is our primarily on-site supervisor and is responsible for coordinating each home from groundbreaking till completion. Scott has been in the construction industry for15 years. Scott, his wife Jamie and son Nolan are members of Wolforth United Methodist Church.

Steve Hoggard, VP Finance & Business Development – Steve is the primary office/finance contact and is responsible for contracts, permits, estimates, finances, and all of the behind the scenes “office” things that take place to make our homes a reality. He has been with the company since February 2018. Steve and his family attend Turning Point Community Church and feel a deep call to serve others with the love of Christ.

Jamie Gatewood, Structural Supervisor – Jamie supervises our homes from the time the first shovel of dirt is turned until the homes enter the finish our phases. He ensures that each home has a strong foundation and solid structure and systems. Jamie is married to ?, together they have ? children. They attend church at The Worship Center here in Lubbock where Jamie serves in the music ministry.

Brendan Beadles, Finish Supervisor – Brendan supervises our homes from the trim stages onward by coordinating all of the final details. Everything concerning the final “fit and finish” of a home is coordinated by Brendan. He makes sure each home lives up to Toogood quality and that moving into a new home is easy and enjoyable for our clients. Brendan has been in the maintenance/construction industry many years and brings a detailed eye to each project..

Liz Hatchett, AR/AP – Liz serves the company in a bookkeeping role making sure sub-contractors and suppliers are paid in a timely manner and that each project’s finances run smoothly. She also serves as a liaison between the office and the on-site staff making sure information flows smoothly. Elizabeth and her Husband Jarett attend Bacon Heights Baptist church and enjoy life with Septimus, the basset hound.

Bobby Haney – Director of Media- Bobby manages all forms of digital media for the company. In all aspects of media including photography, video and social media interaction, Bobby uses his considerable digital media skills to communicate our mission and vision. Bobby also serves BOOM Ministries and has a passion to communicate the Love of God to all though his craft. He attends The Redeemer Church in Lubbock.

Isaac Garcia, Warranty/Punch Out – Isaac brings a unique set of skills to the company. He is a master painter and all-around handy man. His attention to detail ensures our houses finish out beautifully and that our clients are always well taken care of in the final stages of the home building process.
